ccmMercury Version History

ccmMercury Version 5.3.2 -- Released October 9, 2009!

Reorganization of the right-mouse click menu in the tree

With Version 5.3.2, we've reorganized the Edit menu to put the Add function at the top of the list. Certain other entries have also been reordered, but all items remain in the list.

The Add menu items have also been re-ordered, to place the most common "Last" choices at the top of the menu. Add items are now grouped by the prefixes: Last, First, Next (formerly known as Sibling) and Child.

Note that, as always, the First and Last options are only present on tree entries that allow the user to set the sort (typically Contact and Routing). Tree entries that are sorted for the user will only offer the Next and Child options.

Function name changes

Two functions have been renamed, but no changes have been made to how the functions work:

  • The "Modify attachment" function has been renamed "Open attachment".
  • The "Sibling" function, which allows you to add an entry at the same level directly below the tree entry that has focus, has been renamed "Next".

Tree shortcut behaviour changes

Depending how your system administrator has designed your tree, you may be permitted to add new entries using shortcut keys.

As long as unique shortcuts have been defined for each type of tree entry, then you should be able to add new items using the shortcuts without having to click on the tree.

If the focus is on a tree entry that allows children of the shortcut type you are requesting, then the new entry will be added as a child of the selected entry. (For example, you cursor is on a routing and you press Ctrl+M and are allowed child comments.)

If the entry with focus does not allow a child of the requested type, then ccmMercury will add a new entry under the header that allows this type of entry. (For example, you cursor is on a routing and you press Ctrl+B to add a contact, which is not a permitted child.) Previously, this was not permitted. You had to click on the header on an entry of the desired type first.

Viewing and Modifying E-forms

You can now view E-forms in the tree (if applicable) by using a single click to display them instead of a double click.

ccmMercury Version 5.3.1 -- Released June 12, 2009.

New Multi-select Pick List Type

With Version 5.3.1, your System Administrator can now define fields to allow multi-selection of pick list values from a list.

This is defined in the Type field within the Label Set. Only pick lists set to allow multi -selection will allow users to select more than one pick list value to enter into a field.

To do so, users will simply open the pick list and select the desired entries while holding the CTRL key. All selected values will be highlighted and will be entered into the field when you click OK.

Users can search for these multiple values using the OR search, multi-selecting from the list using CTRL, which will return records if any of the values are found. They can also search for one value at a time using the AND search to find only records containing all of the requested entries.

New Function Restriction: Restrict Add of CCM Attachments

This new Function Restriction will allow you to deny users the right to attach CCM Attachments. All of the yellow paperclip buttons and associated menu items will disappear from the user's screen in views with this option checked.

This will primarily be used by organizations using another document management system in conjunction with ccmMercury.

Depending on the other rights set, the users may or may not be able to see or modify these documents (if some already exist or if others in your organization are permitted to add them). Viewing can be disabled via Restriction Rules and Modification via Restriction Rules for some or Function Restrictions for all.

ccmMercury Version 5.3 -- Released December 1, 2008.

Attachment Changes

We've made working with attachments even easier. (All functionality that used to be contained within the Attachments tab has been moved to the Detail tab, and the Attachments tab has been removed.)

To view the contents of an attachment (if you are permitted to do so), click on it once in the tree, or use the navigation shortcuts. The document will be displayed in the Detail tab, at the top-left of the screen. Move the dividing bar to see more of the attachment at once. To return the view to the master screen, simply click on any non-attachment item in the tree, or on any tree header.

  • To modify an attachment, if permitted, double click on the attachment item to launch its associated application, whether it is governed by DM, SharePoint or ccmMercury.

Printing and e-mailing attachments is easier also!

  • To print one or several attachments, click the PRINT button on the main button bar (or select the option from the Edit menu or the right-mouse click menu). (Note that if you select the attachment to print before clicking the button, it will be checked in the selection window that will appear.)

Either click OK immediately to print the one attachment you pre-selected, or check the attachments you'd like to print then click OK to proceed to the Printer window.

  • To e-mail one or several attachments, click the E-MAIL button on the main button bar (or select the option from the Edit menu or the right-mouse click menu). (Note that if you select the attachment to e-mail before clicking the button, it will be checked in the selection window that will appear.)

Either click OK immediately to e-mail the one attachment you pre-selected, or check the attachments you'd like to e-mail. As was possible previously, you can also choose to send copies of your DM attachments from this form by checking the "Send copy" checkbox. Click OK to proceed to the e-mail message, where you'll see your selected documents attached.

Because of the removal of the Attachments tab, the Function Restriction called "Restrict Viewing of the Attachments Tab" has been renamed "Restrict Viewing, Printing and E-mailing of Attachments". It prevents the user from seeing, printing or e-mailing the attachments within ccmMercury. To restrict modify also, be sure to use the existing "Restrict Edit of Attachments" rule.

New Pick List Maintenance Tool

Pick List creation is no longer done within CCM Account Manager, but rather via a new tool that allows greater functionality, including allowing the creation of cascading pick lists. Therefore the Pick List Values screen is no longer in CCM Account Manager. (Note that generally only System Administrators and perhaps certain "Power Users" will have the ability to edit pick lists.)

When you upgrade to V5.3, your current pick lists will be upgraded for you, so all will work as it did before by default. Your new CCM Pick List Maintenance Tool is on your ccmMercury installation in the CCM Account Manager folder. The executable is called ccmpicklist.exe. It is not part of the regular client install. If you choose to allow Power Users access to the program, you will need to give them a shortcut and give them the connection information (or run the custom install for them).

Pick Lists are still connected to your ccmMercury data fields via the Label Set. Note that there are two new fields within this form to allow you to set Parent and/or Child Pick Lists if you've created cascading Pick Lists.

Please refer to the help file within this new tool for full details on the changes made to pick list creation and maintenance.

Pick List Searching

New in Version 5.3, you can now search the code and description values in your pick lists to help you find the code you want.

Type your search criteria in the desired field, then open the pick list using the button or F4. If there is a code that starts with the value you typed, this entry will be highlighted and presented to you.

To find other entries that contain your search value, press F7 to search for the next entry. (Use F6 to select the previous entry.) Once you find the desired code, double click or click OK to select the code.

Change to Barcode Tag

We have changed the barcode tags that allow you to add an automatic contact or routing since most barcode wands and printers were no longer accepting the "|" character. The new codes are [AD[, [ASD[, [AR[ and [ASR[.

If your organization is using barcode functionality, you will have to change your barcode label templates and the Default Child Data Entry Rules that create the automatic contact or routing entry when you scan the barcode.

Changes to the Contact List (Contact Field Set and Application Template)

It is now possible to have more than one many-to-many (Contact-type) table in your Application Template Set, with its own list popup when adding new entries in ccmMercury. Previously, these many-to-many tables had to share a Contact List, but now each table will have its own list.

When you set up your one Contact Field Set (per Database Access Group), you will be able to define fields for each table as appropriate. Start the position over at 1 for each new many-to-many table listed (similar to how you define a Label Set).

Function Restriction Changes

The following changes were made to Function Restrictions:

  • NEW: Restrict Viewing of Attachments on Single Click
  • NEW: Enable File Repository Permissions
  • CHANGED: Restrict Viewing, Printing and E-mailing of Attachments replaces Restrict access to the Attachments Tab

Enhanced Notification Data Entry Rule Functionality

You can now set up notification rules based on fields in your tree tables. Manually set the Value field to resolve the value in your tree field when sending the e-mail. (For example, use @PERSON to send to the person you're tasking instead of the group if you've defined a CCM_ROUTING.PERSON field.)

Change to the configwiz.ini Location

The configwiz.ini file can be copied to the same folder as the executable. The order in which ccmMercury will look for the ini file is as follows: executable location, current user's Apps Data folder under the Documents and Settings folder, the common (All user's) folder.

Upgrade of Outside In Viewer to V8.22

We have upgraded the version of the viewer used to display Attachments, Templates and Reports.

Compatible with Oracle 11g

You can now use Oracle 11g with ccmMercury. Click for more information on Technical Specifications.

Compatible with UTF-8 Character Set on Oracle

Your organization can now use the UTF-8 character set with your ccmMercury Oracle Databases.

If you choose to do so, you will have to set the new field in your Database Connection Set called "Character Size (bytes)" to 4 instead of the default 1 used for other accepted character sets.

ccmMercury Version 5.2

Change to the configwiz.ini Location on the Client

When the ccmMercury client is installed, the configwiz.ini file was copied to the user's ccmMercury directory on the C: drive. The location has changed. It will now be created in Apps Data folder under the Documents and Settings folder.

It will be saved to the local Application Data folder (i.e., the user's application data folder), but it can be deployed in the Local or Common folder (i.e., the "all users" application data folder). All WDT executables look for the CONFIGWIZARD.INI file in local folder first. If it is not there, they will look in common folder.

Compatible with Microsoft Vista

You can now use Microsoft Vista as your client operating system with ccmMercury Version 5.2. Note that if you are running DM and wish to use Vista, you will need to upgrade to DM 5.2.

Basic Integration with Microsoft SharePoint

You can now store and manage your attachments using SharePoint. This is set up by creating a SharePoint Repository Set and by modifying your Application Template Set to include a SharePoint section. Links to your user's SharePoint documents will appear under in the ccmMercury tree.

Current functionality (if enabled) includes the ability to:

  • save documents to SharePoint and attach to the current ccmMercury record
  • modify the attached SharePoint document from ccmMercury
  • view the attached SharePoint document from ccmMercury's Attachment tab (and use the print and e-mail functions within the tab)
  • delete the link to the attached SharePoint document from ccmMercury
  • associate Special Child Comments with the attached SharePoint document

Functionality that is not yet available includes but is not limited to:

  • creating child SharePoint documents
  • attaching links to files already saved to SharePoint

Function Restriction Changes for Contact Warnings

Modifying a contact in Add mode:

To enable the contact message warning the user that a copy of the contact is created when you edit a list entry before saving, use the Function Restriction called "Enable Contact Warning Message in Add Mode".

Modifying a saved contact:

You now have the option of forcing the update of the original contact when it is modified (which was the only option, previously), forcing the creation of a copy on the current record, or popping up a new message allowing the user the option to choose whether to overwrite the existing entry or create a new entry when modifications are made.

When a user modifies a contact that is already saved to a record, and if the contact warning messages have been enabled, then the user will have more options than he did previous to Version 5.2. The message will allow the user to choose ALL, CURRENT or CANCEL:

  • Click ALL to apply the changes to the exiting contact entry, updating all records to which it is linked.
  • Click CURRENT to apply these contact changes to this record only (creating a new, modified contact).
  • Click CANCEL to remove your changes.

Use the new Function Restriction called "Enable Contact Update Method (Current/All)" to force the update of the original (ALL) or to force a new contact each time a list entry is modified (CURRENT). To allow the user the choice, do not use this Function Restriction. The absence of the rule is what forces the message.

Minor changes to Attachments (opening and viewing)

For greater consistency across different types of attachments, the method for opening and viewing the various types of attachments has been changed.

  • To open attached documents in their associated application (whether it is a URL, a CCM attachment or a DMS attachment -- stored in DM, DOCS Open, RDIMS, ForeMost or SharePoint), use the double click action.
  • To view any document, use the right-mouse click menu to select View attachment. This will launch file in the Attachments tab.
  • When viewing documents from the Attachments tab viewer, single click on the items in the tree to display them.

Changes to the Multiple DMS Libraries Settings

New with Version 5.2, you now have more options when defining your DMS Mapping Sets (made up for DMS Field Map Values and DMS Library Values).

  • A view can have zero, one or multiple DMS Mapping Sets (and therefore libraries).
  • Define multiple DMS Mapping Sets and select one as a default to force validation on which libraries and mappings are permitted for a particular view.
  • Define a DMS Mapping Set with no Library Value to allow the use of any legal DM library with the view.

Minor Changes to the Application Template Set

The numbering to define sibling and child levels was changed in the Application Template Set. If you are upgrading from V5.0 or V5.1 to V5.2, the conversion utility will handle any adjustments for you.

ccmMercury Version 5.1

UNIQUE Values Data Entry Rule

The requirement was to allow the System Administrator to define a field as being "UNIQUE" and have ccmMercury validate the uniqueness of the values in the field, and give an appropriate message should the new value not be unique. A validation rule can now be used to enforce unique values in a ccmMercury field. The rule can be set as a Data Entry Rule Validation in CCM Account Manager using the new @UNIQUE code.

Multiple DMS Libraries

The requirement was to allow clients who use the DM system to create multiple libraries within their DMS configuration. ccmMercury V5.1 allows the System Administrator to define a default DMS Map Set for each view and also to allow certain views to use more than one DMS library.

Increased number of Account properties

The requirement was to be able to expand the number of account properties fields for clients who need more than the current @ACCOUNT1 to @ACCOUNT5 fields.

The Account table can be expanded to include any number of fields describing Account properties. CCM Account Manager allows setting values for these fields and using them in conditions for restrictions. Codes for these new property fields are defined, and can be used in the various rules in CCM Account Manager such as Data Entry Rules, Restriction Rules, etc. ccmMercury was updated properly to treat the new conditions.

New "HumDM" class

The requirement was to revisit our current integration between ccmMercury and DM, and make communication between the two applications more robust. In particular, the following changes were made:

  • do not launch DM Extensions for Windows Explorer when ccmMercury starts;
  • rebuild the link to the DM object when the DM process is killed in the background;
  • eliminate launching of multiple instances of DM Extensions by ccmMercury.

Conversion utilities

To assist the System Administrator and provide a seamless transition to ccmMercury V5.1, the following two utilities are provided with Version 5.1.

Database Conversion Utility

The new Database Conversion utility is intended to facilitate the migration from older versions of ccmMercury (the earliest acceptable version is V2.2) to ccmMercury V5.1.

The conversion utility is used to update the database structure (add new tables, columns, constraints, etc.) and to convert the CCM Account Manager rules to the new syntax used in ccmMercury V5.1. An audit trail is provided to identify all changes made at the database level.

Templates Conversion Utility

The Templates Conversion utility is intended to facilitate the automatic conversion of the template tags used in the ccmMercury Template and RTF Report files to the new tag syntax used by ccmMercury V5.1. Again, an audit trail is provided and any incompatibilities in tag usage will be signalled to the user.

ccmMercury Version 5.0

Application Templates

Introduction

The objective was to increase ccmMercury's flexibility and to expand its area of applications by being able to support more complex "business process challenges" based on the parent/children paradigm, regardless of the number of children and their relationship with the parent. The following upgrades have been introduced in ccmMercury V.5.0:

ccmMercury

  • There is no limited to the number of children that can be displayed within the tree.
  • Comments can now be added to any master or child entry.
  • Events can be defined for any child.
  • All children listed in the tree can now support a hierarchical structure (previously this was only supported by the Routing child).
  • Headers and children can be located anywhere within the tree.
  • The order in which children are displayed can now be decided by the business requirement.
  • Children can now be named to more accurately describe the activity.
  • The database schema representing the master record and its children can now support unlimited child entries in the tree.
  • The order in which the master records are displayed is now decided by the Client.
  • Short-cuts used for different child operations such as Add/ Navigate/Delete can now be defined by the Client.
  • The tree view node's name identifying the child and the icons use by the child in the tree view can be selected and/or changed by the Client.

CCM Account Manager

CCM Account Manager function restrictions, record restrictions, event definitions and templates and reports all support these new additions.

External DLLs

Application-specific business rules no longer need to be implemented in ccmMercury core functionality, they can be delivered in separate DLLs. Examples include advanced calculation fields and specific and/or complex rules between children or within the Master Record.

Keyword Search

This functionality allows ccmMercury users to perform full-text searches on a set of fields defined in the CCM Account Manager Keyword Search Set and can be used with any other search criteria. The search result is presented in an easily identifiable manner to the users.

URLs can now be attached

URLs can now be saved and attached in the ccmMercury Tree for ease of reference.

Extended Copy/Paste functionality

The existing Copy/Paste functionality was extended to allow Copy/Paste for all child nodes. A copied node can be pasted into the same record, into another record from the same view or into another record from a different view. A copied node can also be pasted multiple times. A comment node can be copied from one child to another: a master comment can be copied/paste to a routing and vice versa.

Support for Grouped/Multi-Valued Pick Lists

This software release has the ability to store, retrieve and search for grouped/multi-valued fields (checkboxes, radio buttons, etc), which are mapped over sections of an electronic form managed by the WorkDynamics E-Form server.

Primary Contact

This feature enhances ccmMercury to give users the ability to set and visually identify a primary contact for a given master record.

Enable Maximum Number of Records

This new CCM Account Manager function restriction will display a warning each time the current search returns more than a specified number of records. The user can choose to proceed with the current number of records or to cancel the operation and refine the search.

Directory Services Integration

ccmMercury V5.0 offers integration with Windows Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or Novell Directory Services (NDS).

Additional Enhancements

Audit Trail

The new Audit mechanism records all ccmMercury user actions that affect a ccmMercury master record and/or any of its children, including login attempts, database changes, attachments affected and notifications sent.

Formatting Template Fields

New tags were introduced in templates to format the database string fields. Supports better customized templates.

Install Changes

Both Server and Client Install have the following two options:

  • Typical - installs without dialog all features except ccmWorkFlowService, ccmWorkFlowDesigner, ccmActiveDirectory, ccmConversion
  • Custom - starts a dialogue allowing the user to select the features to be installed.

Third-Party Products

ccmMercury has been upgraded/certified with Crystal Reports V11, Outside-In-Viewer V8.1, PDF Viewer V8.0, Oracle V10g R2, SQL Server 2005, Outlook 2007, Internet Explorer V7.0, IBM Lotus Notes V7 and Novell Group Wise V7.

ccmMercury.WEB Version 3.5

Attachment Full-Text Searching: (ccmMercury only) Allows full-text searching in any attachment, once attachment server is configured for IIS indexing.

Rule-based Routing: (ccmMercury only) Customers can now visually design workflow processes by directly manipulating workflow components on a designer form. Users can easily design both simple sequential processes or complex workflows that involve distributions, combining of rules with AND/OR conditions and conditional logic through IF statements.

Workflow Service: (ccmMercury only) Service sends automatic email notifications when triggered by specified events.

Predefined Process Enhancements: Upon creating a pre-defined routing template, any field added to the Routing record can be included. When the predefined process is selected and applied, users have the option of assigning the first one, all, or none. Adding routings can be restricted within the predefined process grouping and other restrictions can still be applied to routings that are part of a predefined process.

Changes to Logins and Passwords: System administrators can prevent users from changing ccmMercury passwords and can set a threshold for invalid login attempts, after which the ccmMercury account is locked out.

DM/RDIMS Integration: Users can attach links to files located in the DM repository. All DOCS Open integration features (drag and drop, field mapping, etc.) is now available with DM5.

ccmMercury Version 3.2
ccmMercury.WEB Version 3.2

Drag and Drop Files or Outlook E-mails Into DMS: Allows users to drag-and-drop files or e-mails into ccmMercury and profile them in the Document Management System at the same time.

Notification via Outlook Tasks: As an alternative to receiving an e-mail, a ccmMercury user can be notified of an outstanding task via the task list in Microsoft Outlook.

Enhanced Query Maintenance: A new Function Restriction setting allow users to delete their own Queries without deleting those saved for all users. It's also possible to change the Recall Query view to include all Queries to facilitate maintenance of the list for those with full rights to delete queries.

Spell Check: (ccmMercury only) Users are able to highlight text in any ccmMercury field and invoke Microsoft Word's spell check utility.

New Function Restrictions:
    Enable ForeMost
    Enable Viewing All Queries
    Enable Version Control
    Enable Forced Version Control
    Enable Query Maintenance Global

ccmMercury Version 3.0
ccmMercury.WEB Version 3.0

Global Modify and Global Route: New options for Power Users:

  • Global Modify: On the core information section only, an authorized user can edit one record and have ALL of the changes applied to all records in the result set.
  • Global Route: Similarly, a routing added to one record can be applied to all records in the result set, adding the routing as the final routing on each record.

E-forms Functionality: If this option has been configured and enabled, members of your organization can create records in ccmMercury by completing an electronic form. The resulting ccmMercury record contains both the data and the actual form, and also includes a predefined routing process for the workflow required related to that type of form.

If permitted, you'll be able to view the form and update it, which creates a read-only version of the initial form and adds an editable version to allow for further revisions. Each new version will be added to the E-Form section of the tree, located under the Attachments section of the screen, and will become a read-only version. Depending on your rights, the last version in the tree will be available for editing if further changes are required.

Additional Template Tags and New Ad-hoc Selected Routing Feature: New tags have been added to allow for more flexibility in designing Templates and Reports:

  • <CCM_ROUTING_START_LASTOPEN> allows you to have only the last open routing display on your template or report. It must be accompanied by the tag <CCM_ROUTING_END>.
  • <CCM_ROUTING_START_OPEN> allows you to just have all of the open routings display on your template or report, cutting out returned or unassigned routings. It must be accompanied by the tag <CCM_ROUTING_END>.
  • <CCM_DATE_ENGLISH> will make all dates on your template or report display in full English format: January 19, 2003.
  • <CCM_DATE_FRENCH> will make all dates on your template or report display in full French format: le 19 janvier 2003.

Additionally, when manually creating a Template, you can now select a particular routing (one only) to have input into the Template you select. This will override any routing tags set within the Template.

Extended Attachment Path: A new option allows the extending of attachment paths a level lower (based on a month) than previously, by checking the "Use extended Paths" checkbox within each Attachment Path Set definition form.

Pick List Form Enhancements: (ccmMercury only) The Pick List form can now be positioned anywhere on the screen, the OK button selects an entry, and the CANCEL button will close the form.

Routing Performance Enhancements: (ccmMercury only) The speed of adding, inserting and deleting routings has been significantly improved.

ccmMercury Version 2.5

Contact Usability Improvements:

  • When adding a contact, there is now a CLEAR button at the top right of the Contact form.
  • The Contact List can now be sorted on any field by clicking on the field heading (similar to the Summary screen).
  • When users add or edit contacts, warning messages can be displayed to ensure better quality contact information is supplied.
  • Filling in the First Name and Last Name fields can now force the launch of the Contacts List.

General Usability Improvements: A new option (under Search in the Edit menu) adds a new button allowing your Default Query to be run in Search mode (if enabled for you). The Save Query and Recall Query options have been moved from the Tools menu to the Edit menu. Pressing Ctrl+P will add a Return Process and pressing Ctrl+U will add a Routing and Routing Comment.

Default Query: Instead of a blank screen with no records selected, users can now set their initial view to be the result of any saved query. In addition, if a Default Query has been set, then clicking the RECALL DEFAULT QUERY button on the main toolbar while in a blank Search screen will quickly recall the results of the default query.

OR Searching: Selecting multiple values in pick lists will now perform OR searching within the field.

Drag and Drop Files and Emails: Dragging files from Windows Explorer and dropping them onto the Attachment header in ccmMercury will automatically attach a copy of the selected file(s) to the current record. Similarly users of Microsoft Outlook 2000 (or later versions), can add copies of emails to records by dragging them onto the ccmMercury Attachment header.

Dropping Multiple Records from Summary Tab: The Summary Tab now includes checkboxes in front of each record, allowing users to select multiple records that can then be dropped from the result set by pressing F12.

ccmMercury.WEB Version 2.5

Contact Changes: A new Set has been added allowing ccmMercury administrators to configure the Contact List screen used to add Contacts. This new set must be configured and hooked into all Database Access Groups prior to releasing the new version to users.

Linking Fields to FOREMOST: Screen fields can be linked to the ForeMost records management software by specifying @FOREMOST in a Data Entry Restriction.

New Account Fields: New fields in the Account table allow the definition of additional field defaults and restrictions that are based on the values set in your Account.

New Function Restrictions:

  • Enable Default Queries
  • Enable Contact Messages
  • Enable Auto Launch of Contacts List
  • Restrict DOCS Open Copy

New E-mail Notification Functionality: Automatic e-mail notifications can now be sent to individuals other than the Assigned To person by either hard coding the e-mail address into a rule or by having the value in a master field resolve to an e-mail address.

ccmMercury Version 2.41

Integration with Adobe Acrobat PDF Viewer: An improved new viewer can be used to view PDF attachments. Its use is completely transparent to users – double clicking on a PDF attachment opens the new PDF viewer in the Attachments Tab. If a different file type is clicked, the original viewer is used. The PDF viewer option is enabled via the Function Restriction Set.

ccmMercury.WEB Version 2.41

Perform Calculations in Default Values: Specifying @CALCULATE as a Default Value Rule (within Data Entry Rules) will perform simple calculations. See the Examples of Data Entry Rules topic in the Help file for more information.

ccmMercury Version 2.4

Integration with Crystal Reports: Crystal Reports can now be run through ccmMercury. ccmMercury ships with sample Crystal Reports, but you can create additional reports using any functionality of Crystal Reports and link them into ccmMercury. These reports are run from the Reports tab, along with the standard ccmMercury reports (created in RTF format). You can have any combination of standard or Crystal Reports.

Expanded DOCS Open Integration: The RDIMS integration announced in version 2.3 has been expanded to include any implementation of the DOCS Open document management product, whether stand alone or as part of RDIMS. In addition, Reports and In Box attachments can now be save to DOCS Open.

Navigation Shortcuts: New shortcut keys allow you to quickly move around ccmMercury screens. These same options are also available on the Navigation menu.

    Ctrl+F1 Move to Contacts.
    Ctrl+F2 Move to Comments.
    Ctrl+F3 Move to Routings.
    Ctrl+F4 Move to Attachments.
    Ctrl+F5 Move to Core Information.
Ctrl+F6 Previous in Tree: Navigate up to the previous tree item of the same type.
Ctrl+F7 Next in Tree: Navigate down to the next tree item of the same type.

ccmMercury.WEB Version 2.4

Integration with Crystal Reports: Crystal Reports can now be run through ccmMercury.WEB, allowing you to create additional reports using any functionality of Crystal Reports. This option is enabled through the Function Restriction Set, and the Crystal Reports to be used must be linked through the Template Set. It is also now possible to disable standard ccmMercury RTF Reports via the Function Restriction Set.

Summary Set Enhancements: Field display length and the field display position can now be defined for the Summary Set. These values must be defined in your Summary Sets using ccmAccountManager before you will be able to view the Summary screen.

New Automatic Notification Code &ndash @SELECT: Specifying @SELECT in the automatic notification rules in the Data Entry Rule Set will trigger your e-mail package to open a “new message” window allowing you to enter the email address(es) of your choice. This option can be used in combination with @CONFIRM and even with one of the @ASGN, @ALLASGN or @ALLROUTING codes. If with the latter, if the E-mail Value exists for the routing that triggered the notification then the automatic notification proceeds in the background with no intervention required. If the E-mail Value does not exist for the Assigned To in question, then the e-mail message window will open ready for input.

ccmMercury Version 2.33

Enhanced Date Formats: Date format validation has been improved to ensure that manually-entered dates are acceptable. The following valid date formats will work with the following language settings: English (Canadian), English (US) and French (Canadian):

    YYYY/MM/DD DD/MM/YYYY MM/DD/YYYY
    YYYY/M/D D/M/YYYY M/D/YYYY

If using a French operating system, use

    AAAA/MM/JJ JJ/MM/AAAA MM/JJ/AAAA
    AAAA/M/J J/M/AAAA M/J/AAAA

You can use any date separator except the backslash (\). Note that if you use Regional Setting in the Windows Control Panel to select a date separator or a format other than those specified above, you will not be able to access ccmMercury.

Enhanced Automatic Notification: The automatic notification rules defined in the Data Entry Sets (using @ASGN, @ALLASGN and @ALLROUTING) are triggered only when the appropriate Assigned To code exists in the E-mail Values list. If no E-mail Value is specified, no automatic notification is sent. Automatic e-mail codes need only be defined for those who wish to receive e-mails – dummy E-mail Values are no longer needed for people not wanting automatic notifications.

Bulk Mail: New functionality allows printing or e-mailing template items in bulk. Specific fields (columns) must exist in the database, special templates must be created and the function must be enabled (in Function Restrictions) in order to use this capability.

Upgraded Attachments Tab Viewer: An upgraded version of the Outside In viewer technology is provided.

Consistent Handling of Error Logs: All error logs are now written to the appropriate "windows temp" directory, regardless of version of the Windows operating system. Previously, error logs were written to file on Windows 95 and Windows 98, and to the Event Viewer on Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems.

Barcode Functionality: If configured, when a user scans a barcode that was created using ccmMercury, the record is automatically displayed. Depending on the rules which have been set, a Contact or Routing entry could be automatically added (presumably to indicate who had accessed the record).

Automatic Add of Contact or Routing: Contact or Routing entries can be automatically added when triggered by scanning a barcode or by adding a new record. This functionality is configured by the administrator within ccmAccountManager, using a new Data Entry Rule scope called Default Child Entry. The new @ADD and @SCAN values can also trigger the automatic add of a Contact or Routing.

RDIMS Integration: RDIMS users can attach already-profiled RDIMS files to ccmMercury records as copies or references to the DOCS Open file. This integration also allows users to create ccmMercury templates and save them to DOCS Open.

Accepted Date Formats: The following valid date formats will work with any of English (Canadian), English (US) and French (Canadian) language settings:

    YYYY/MM/DD DD/MM/YYYY MM/DD/YYYY

If using a French operating system, use

    AAAA/MM/JJ JJ/MM/AAAA MM/JJ/AAAA

If any other format is set, you will not be able to access ccmMercury until an accepted format is selected.

ADO Technology: ccmMercury now uses ADO technology instead of ODBC. This results in minor modifications to the Log On screen and the Database Connection Set, removing references to DSN and adding fields for Server Name and OLE Database Provider. If you are using NT Authentication (SQL databases only), the data in the Username and Password fields in your Database Connection Sets and in the configwiz.ini files must be blank in order to enable NT Authentication.
